The Three Rivers medical centre was a two-story new build with a double height reception area with a central open stairwell. The design included a Type 6 sprinkler system with manual call points throughout the building (including ceiling voids as required by NZS 4541) as well as a sidewall drencher sprinkler protection for the glass fire separations.

The escape route design is via two scissor stairs to allow the required distance between escape routes.
